The Split Rock Jumping Tour in Ohio is proving to be a hot spot for Todd Minikus and his string of horses and riders. This past weekend at the Split Rock International CSI3* Todd Minikus rode Erin Schiller’s Luken Du Rouet to a decisive win in the 1.40m Speed class, a repeat performance of his win in the $5000 1.40m the week prior. In the 1.35m Minikus had two rounds in the top five, with I Dottori VD Richter and Chaco 34. Minikus and Chaco 34 also finished second in the $5000 Walsh 1.40m and then wrapped up the weekend finishing in the money with Bit By Bit Group’s’ Amex Z in the $135,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Columbus Grand Prix.
A week earlier at Split Rock, Team Minikus also came home with numerous wins, and top placing’s over the course of the CSI2* jumping tour. Minikus competed I Dottori VD Richter owned by Todd Minikus, LTD to a win during the first day of competition in the $2,500 1.40m Speed class, to a top ten finish in the $2,000 John Deere 1.35m Jump Off, and a top five finish in the $10,000 1.35m National Prix. Competing Amex Z in the FEI $9,000 1.40m speed Minikus took home the win again, and in the $2,000 John Deere 1.35m Jump Off Minikus took home the top two spots riding Luken Du Rouet for first place and Chaco 34 owned by Maidensway to second. On the final day of that competition Minikus and Luken Du Rouet took home the win in the $5,000 1.40m Winning Round, and second in the $10,000 1.35m National Prix.
In addition to the man himself, Team Minikus rider Victoria Zelch was on hand riding Sniper owned by Musical Woods LLC to victory in the $1,000 Low Jr/Am Power & Speed. Minikus who is known for his powerful endings, such as the signature “double fist pump” was awarded the Split Rock Jumping Tour “Fist Pump Award” at the conclusion of the competition.
