Gold medal winning U.S. Pan American Team rider Todd Minikus continues to add to his decorated record of over 150 Grand Prix wins. Turning professional in 1980, Todd has continually earned numerous prestigious titles across the globe. Representing the United States on several Nations Cup teams, earning the title of Equestrian of The Year, and a proud alternate for the Olympic Show Jumping Team and winner of the HITS Million Dollar Grand Prix. Todd has spent a decade in the top earning jumper rankings for the USHJA. Todd continues to soar in the show jumping world and is one of America’s most decorated equestrians.
Todd knows the value of hard work and dedication, filling waterbuckets for seventy horses every day, at only ten years old, in exchange for riding lessons. His dedication to riding even crosses over into his personal life. His entire family is hands on with the horses- it is simply the best way of life for Todd, his wife Amanda and their two children, Colt and Langley. Todd often refers to himself as “half-horse” and his bold and effective jumping style suggest that there’s more truth than fiction to his statement. Todd is fearless in his riding, maybe because he even rode bulls in his early career. And he loves speed. Todd says that if he was never involved with horses, then his dream career would have been as a racecar driver! In his free time, he chooses tamer pursuits, spending time with his family, fishing and occasionally playing a few rounds of golf.
He is also an active coach and trainer and Team Minikus is made up of Todd protégées of all ages and many successful adult amateur riders. Team Minikus is also well respected for their investment horses and many owners enjoy the excitement and luxury of the sport through their investments in Team Minikus horses.
